Rocket day
Rocket Day is a once-a-year event on a Saturday in the spring where all ages from the community are invited to build a model rocket with guidance. It is done in conjunction with model rocket launches that already occur on the Sunday of the month at NASA Goddard Visitor’s Center and run by a local National Association of Rocketry Club, NARHAMS. This free event has been conducted for the past two years and has been at the capacity of 80 rocket builders for both years. The participants have remarked that it is a wonderful event for the whole family. The participants are able to build a model rocket, interact with some of the engineers of our organization, and meet some of the young people of FIRE NSBE Jr. The participants are able launch their rockets the next day at the NARHMS launch day.
